Fiba Cisl is a the most representative welfare confederation in the financial area with more than 90.000 members among bank, insurance and financial workers. This union has been working for more than 50 years though the trademark Fiba Cisl was founded in the 1981 thanks to the fusion between Fib ( Cisl bankers union founded in 1951) and Fila (Cisl insurance union founded in 1958). The Fiba Cisl union joins to the Uni ( Union Network International- http://www.union-network.org), which represents 15 million private services workers in 120 different countries.
A group inside a confederate union
Fiba is one of the group Federation which animates the Cisl Confederation. There are a lot of opportunities inside a very big organization made of millions of people which has also a significant prestige. Therefore we know our job in this area and in the company has to be enriched with concerted confrontation in the final seat. Also our members protections can be completed by the local Cisl services. In order to conclude the main group agreements Fiba works both with Cgil (Fisac) and Uil (Uilca) as well as with the self-governing trades in each specific area.
Our values
Fiba believes in Cisl prior values as solidarity and social justice, pluralism and democracy, party and government autonomy, any subordinate to commercial companies, practice solutions, society direct activity in the country life, the negotiation agreement is highly preferred to the legislative one. Our union is not made of ideological options, it starts from the country reality in order to change it: of course our members help us to understand which changes are needed.
We believe in our democratic and liable spirit. Some examples? Any worker who wants to dedicate himself to the union activity is well accepted, frequent exchanges among directors at any standard,
Substantial investment to inform our union members. Moreover any members is brought into the position to learn the use made of his monthly contribution, through local Fiba balances or company Sas. We use resources for humanitarian solidarity in the Third world.
Our job
Fiba has gained a wide experience with two top priorities:
- To work inside companies in order to earn credibility
- Encourage his members meeting their needs with a wide services offer
Fiba is interested in enlarging companies negotiated participation with the union: through national companies and trusts contracts, but also bilateral Committees, European companies committees, Pension and healthy Funds. To negotiate and to take part into it is a hard job. Fiba has chosen to invest a lot for its union proposal with national and local development projects together with prestigious research activities.
